Hannah Howell is such a great story teller, that you will cry, laugh, and fall in love with her hero and heroine. This is the 1st book in the Murray family saga which starts in the year 1430 and introduces Balfour, the highland chieftan of clan Murray. His middle brother is Nigel, and the youngest is Eric. This book abounds with romance, mysteries surrounding both the heroine, Mauldie and Eric, who is a young boy, danger to the Murrays. All the Murray titles can be read as stand alones, and believe me after this one, you will be hooked; not just on the Murrays, but on Ms. Howell's story telling genius. Block out plenty of time in your schedule, because once you start one of her books, you won't want to stop until you finish the book. I promise you, the story and the characters will stay with you.

Just started, takes awhile to find a book good enough to make you want to read the next one, finally this book does and there's a bunch to read.
