À propos de cet ebook

The eternal truths of the Bible never change. God does not change, but cultural standards and expectations change with each generation. One of the benefits of reading books by saints from the past is that they surprise us by bringing a whole different set of cultural expectations and standards to their exposition of the unchanging truths of Scripture.

Hints for Parents is full of practical parenting insights. Gardiner Spring candidly reminds us of God’s calling to us as parents and encourages us to pursue that calling with our eyes fixed on the hope that is found in God’s gracious promises to his people. Interspersed in the text are comments and encouragements from Tedd Tripp that help us fill in the gaps between the original publication date of 1835 and the present day.

Quelques mots sur l'auteur

Gardiner Spring (1785-1873) graduated from Yale in 1805, studied law, and became a lawyer in 1808. Shortly after beginning his career he heard a sermon on the preaching of the gospel and determined to pursue the ministry. He became Pastor of Brick Presbyterian Church in New York City in 1810, where he ministered for 63 years.

Tedd Tripp (B.A., Geneva College; M.Div., Philadelphia Theological Seminary; D. Min, Westminster Theological Seminary) is the president of Shepherding the Heart Ministries, and is Pastor Emeritus of Grace Fellowship Church in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, where he served from 1980 until 2012. Tedd has developed and teaches materials that encourage the people of God to understand gospel hope for the ways that human beings are pushed and pulled by the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Tedd and his wife Margy are parents of three adult children and nine grandchildren. Tedd is known around the world for the best-selling child rearing book, Shepherding a Child’s Heart. He has also the author of the Shepherding a Child’s Heart Parent’s Handbook, Hints for Parents, and with his wife, Margy, Instructing a Child’s Heart.
