About this eBook

New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery's classic blend of lighthearted humor and intense emotional conflict works its magic on two newcomers to the California town of Fool's Gold, which Library Journal calls "a setting so real and appealing readers will want to start scoping out real estate."

Destiny Mills believes passion has its place—like in the lyrics of the country songs that made her parents famous. After a childhood full of drama and heartache, she wants a life that's calm. Safe. Everything that Kipling Gilmore isn't. Her temporary assignment with the Fool's Gold search and rescue team puts her in delicious proximity to the former world-class skier every day. Part of her aches to let go for once…the rest is terrified what'll happen if she does.

Though an accident ended his career, Kipling still lives for thrills—and a hot fling with a gorgeous redhead like Destiny would be a welcome diversion. Yet beneath his new coworker's cool facade is a woman who needs more than he's ever given. With her, he's ready to take the risk. But love, like skiing, is all about trust—and before you soar, you have to be willing to fall.

Look for Best of My Love, the next title in Susan Mallery’s Fool’s Gold series.

Susan Mallery is a masterful storyteller. She writes stories that are emotional and humorous reads that come from the heart. Hold Me is the story of two individuals that have been hurt by circumstances that life has bestowed on them. Now they are looking for ways to move beyond the hardships and find happiness. I loved this story. Can't wait to read the next book in the Fool's Gold series. Received this book for an honest review.

From the very first sentence I felt as if I’d been welcomed back home. Mallery returns to this series with the same style and flair that we’ve come to love from Fool’s Gold. This intricately developed story combines the best of small town romance with all of the harsh realities of life. Mallery has a way of looking at life that makes you think ‘hey, it’s not just me.’ You finish the story feeling much better about everything, while at the same time having enjoyed one heck of a brilliant read. The concept of HERO was not only well developed, but uniquely suited to this series. I loved watching it progress. I will fully admit that from the moment that we first met Kipling last summer I’ve been dying for this story. He definitely did not disappoint. Combine his outlooks on life with Destiny’s and you have some explosively comical situations. The emotional and psychological impacts of their pasts come in to play in very powerful ways throughout the novel. I love how the entire town is involved in this story. Sure, we have our main couple who definitely carry the story forward, but we get to experience the lives of those around them as well, adding a great deal to the tale as a whol
