Homer Bait and Switch

He’s not a bad guy, but he did something that has his mother and sister upset.

The local girls nicknamed him the Russian Raider. He didn’t care before but there’s a new girl in Homer, Lynn. Rurik feels the pull the moment he spots her. His reputation is against him and he knows it.

Born in Homer, Lynn left when an infant. Her mother’s dead and her father dies before she meets him. She’s inherited a sporting good’s store, Homer Bait and Switch. Can she make a life in a place her mother hated?

There is one item of interest. The big, blond fisherman she locates in the viewfinder of her camera on the deck of a vessel leaving the harbor. When she discovers his nickname, Lynn isn’t sure she wants to know him better.

“I didn’t plan to take off with our earnings. Ally, my sister was driving our fishing boat to the boatyard to schedule a ton of refits. The old tub needed to continue making us money. She handed the check from the last offload of salmon to me. to deposit in the bank. I stood looking at the check for a while. In all my twenty-six years, I’d never been out of Alaska. I stared at the thing, eighty thousand plus a few hundred and couldn’t give it up. Too much temptation, I hopped in the truck for the four-hour trip to the Anchorage Airport and the first plane out.”

Home again, Rurik must fix things which won’t be easy.
