With winter closing in, Texas cowboy Buck Tanner is fired for the season. When he confronts his no account boss for the last of his pay, a disagreement breaks out between the two men with deadly results. Leaving town seems like Buck's best choice course of action and he sets out with his pal Luke to find a new opportunity.
