O ovoj e-knjizi

Recently retired, grocer Dickson McCunn decides to embark on a little walking tour in the Scottish Borders. Along the way he falls in with John Heritage, a young Englishman with a poet's heart. Together they become embroiled in a dangerous plot to kidnap an exiled Russian princess.

With the help of the local worthies and the Gorbals Die-Hards – a plucky, resourceful gang of boys from Glasgow – the two men attempt to frustrate the gang, save the princess and protect Scotland from the evils of communism. In the process Dickson McCunn Discovers that life after retirement can definitely be a life less ordinary.

Written in 1922, just a few years after the Russian Revolution, Huntingtower is both a modern fairytale and a gripping adventure story, and introduces some of Buchan's best-loved characters, the Gorbals Die-Hards.

With an introduction by Ann Widdecombe.

This edition is authorised by the John Buchan Society.
