About the author
Ida Bindschedler (1854-1919) war eine Schweizer Lehrerin sowie Kinder- und Jugendbuchautorin. Sie wuchs in der Nähe von Zürich auf und unterrichtete dort 24 Jahre lang an einer privaten Mädchenschule. In "Die Turnachkinder im Sommer" und "Die Turnachkinder im Winter" beschrieb sie ihre eigene Kindheit. Neben Johanna Spyri gilt sie als bekannteste Kinderbuchautorin der Schweiz.
