Luca, ex militare ed ex partigiano, dopo la fine della guerra è entrato a far parte dell’NSI, il Nucleo Speciale Investigativo che si occupa di scovare e consegnare alla giustizia criminali di guerra fascisti e nazisti sfuggiti al processo di Norimberga. Una mattina, passando davanti alla basilica di Sant’Eustorgio, nota una bicicletta legata all’inferriata. E così la mattina successiva. E quella dopo ancora. Quando si accorge che è girata alcuni giorni verso destra, altri verso sinistra, Luca inizia a sospettare che quella non sia una semplice bicicletta, ma un messaggio in codice. Ma da parte di chi? E perché?
