Olegario Diaz is a composer/pianist, born in Venezuela. He studied music at the Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA), earning a Bachelor in Composition. And received a Master in Jazz Studies at the Manhattan School of Music (New York, USA) He has performed as a pianist in the New York and West Coast areas with artists such as Tito Puente, Willie Bobo, Celia Cruz, Johnny Pacheco, Willie Colon, Jose Fajardo, Luis Ramirez, Afro-Cubans, Mario Bauza Big Band, Paquito Rivera, Victor Paz, Daniel Ponce and many others. Mr. Diaz still plays in USA and South America with many different Latin and Jazz bands. For his SteepleChase debut album, he surrounded himself with the finest artists one can find on the NY jazz scene: Rich Perry (on Tenor Sax), Ron McClure (on Bass) and Billy Hart (on Drums). And for his second SteepleChase album, he was reunited with artists like Randy Brecker, Lewis Nash as well as Ron McClure and Rich Perry.
