Dar Good
Every time I read a book by this authour, I'm convinced that this is my favourite book ever. Yet, everytime the next book comes, the bar is raised and my expectations are overwhelmed again. This book is no exception. I was giddy with happiness when I won a copy, because, not being in the US, I wouldn't be able to read it otherwise. The Kindle Worlds is only there, and having read this, I am even more sad about that - this world is where I want to wallow I didn't read the blurb before starting this book, but Decker had me hooked from the beginning. So dark, alpha, hot and sexy, and that was when he really wasn't doing anything but existing. He dominates this book, and in such a good way. He isn't overpowering, just powerful, in his presence and actions, and you can't turn away once you start. Warning you all, you won't be able to turn away, so expect to read this in one sitting, and manage your time accordingly There was so much bad that happened to our main characters before we meet them. The emotions bubbled over when I least expected them, but they were raw and real. They seep into the story and they aren't where, or what you expect, and that makes them even more powerful. In the end, these are two people who deserved happiness because their intentions were always good, yet, life was cruel to them. The ending they get is more the sweeter because of who they are, more than, what they become. They stay true to themselves, and face the world, and that forges them together even more This is one of those rare books, there was nothing, absolutely nothing, that I didn't like, in this story. I loved every moment, and savoured it for days afterwards

Le sigh! This book was so much more than I was expecting it to be. I love Pam Godwin's writing, and Incentive just happened to be the lone title that I had yet to read. I confess that my main worry was that because it belonged to an existing book universe, I was going to end up feeling like I was missing something. I'm very happy to report that wasn't the case at all! While the story has ties to Aleatha Romig's Infidelity book world, it was the companion matching service Infidelity that was the main connection. I never felt clueless or couldn't understand what was happening at any point in the story, so it's safe to say that this is a standalone. Pam Godwin is known for her dark romances, but if you think she isn't capable of writing lighter fare, think again! Yes, there's a fair bit of angst and some kink in Decker and Laynee's story, and yes, it's as steamy as you expect Godwin's books to be. However, this is, dare I say, more lighthearted in tone, and I'm certainly not complaining. I loved seeing Godwin take on this kind of storytelling because it highlights that she's a gifted author who isn't limited to "just" dark romances. Decker and Laynee were sublime main characters, and I felt privileged to have a front row seat to their relationship's journey. Theirs was a tale about trust and starting over, and I loved every bit of it. Five-plus stars go to Incentive! Dare I hope for a book about Reese Cromwell?

Incentive is part of the kindle world series. It is written in Aleatha Romigs Fidelity series world. Incentive is about Decker who loses his job and is desperate need of money before he is evicted. He meets a stalker who offers him a job that has him committed in a relationship for a year. The interview alone has him curious. I really loved the opposite gender age gap in this book. Decker is 12 years younger than Laynee who is in her forties. I have been use to reading the typical cliche age gap stories so this was different and refreshing. Decker is a dominant man.. Laynee is sick of dominant men... Theirs a fight for dominance.. It is great to see the relationship between Decker and Laynee change as they are stuck with each other. From being scared, to being comfortable. From being in uncommitted to commuted. Can't mention more than that... This book is filled with dominance, raw moments, a heart wrenching past.
