She has been fascinated by fantasy and science fiction books from a young age with Lord of the Rings being one of her favourites. After getting sick of reading about weak female characters in science fiction she decided to write her own and thus The Nova Chronicles were born. Since then she has published more than thirty science fiction and fantasy novels.
Saffron's 'day job' is as a research scientist where she gets to see science fiction come to life.
