ABOUT LYDIA MICHAELS 

Lydia Michaels is the bestselling and award-winning author of more than forty novels. She writes heart-clenching, unpredictable romance with dark elements and high heat. With a sweet spot for overbearing, territorial types, her deeply emotional books are spicy, emotionally satisfying, and guaranteed to leave readers with many book hangovers. 

HOW IT STARTED

Lydia Michaels started her author career in 2007, quickly becoming a recognized presence in the publishing industry. The Surrender Trilogy, her breakout series with Penguin Random House, shared many Barnes & Noble endcaps with fellow bestsellers Sylvia Day and EL James, boosting her career as a to-be-read newbie author. She has since been featured by national media outlets such as USA Today and Romantic Times Magazine and starred as a guest on multiple podcasts. 

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Michaels is the founder of the East Coast Author Convention, which hosts 500 readers and authors. Spotlighted at events such as the Women in Publishing Summit, Indie Author Conference, Skye Warren’s Romance Author Mastermind Conference, Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Apollycon, Tempted and Tantalizing in New York, she continues to share her experience and knowledge with others in her field. 

Her work has won multiple RONe Awards and honorable mentions, which has given her incredible courage to write significant stories that delicately address challenging topics such as domestic violence, patriarchy, and the Me Too movement, keeping today’s romance readers both informed and entertained. As the consecutive winner of the 2018 & 2019 Author of the Year Award from Happenings Media and the recipient of the 2014 Best Author Award from the Courier Times, Michaels continues to blaze a path in the romance community for deeply emotional romance that artfully confronts cultural challenges faced by women today. 

In addition to publishing more than forty novels, Michaels is also the CEO of LMC Consulting. As a certified author coach specializing in characterization and plot development, she has helped fledgling and bestselling authors improve their craft. 

BEHIND THE SCENES

Michaels is happily married to her childhood sweetheart. Her favorite things include cooking Italian cuisine, hosting extravagant dinner parties, sipping martinis, listening to her husband play piano, and escaping to her coastal home on the Jersey Shore. She’s an LGBTQ ally, a BLM supporter, and a firm believer that the patriarchy must burn (women’s rights are human rights).
