He is the author of Adventures in Group Theory: Rubik's Cube, Merlin's Machine, and Other Mathematical Toys, also published by Johns Hopkins. Marshall Hampton is a professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
