The Premier League is one of the most popular and lucrative football leagues in the world. It was formed in 1992 following a breakaway from the Football League, and since then has grown to become a global brand. The league is made up of 20 teams, who play 38 matches each from August to May, with the team with the most points at the end of the season being crowned champions.
