About this eBook

In the distant future, Earth is ravaged by war and famine, and after generations of bloodshed settles into peace only to be invaded by the alien Delroi. General Alrik Torfa needs a mate and his seers promise mates for many of his people on the distant planet Earth. He doesn’t expect her to come easily, but is more than a little surprised to find her leading an enemy army. Outmanned and outgunned, there is no way the Earth forces can win.

Sergeant Major Laney Bradford has always played her part and served her people well, but the Delroi’s surrender demands are a bit extreme. Marriage to one of them? Not likely. But she’s fought for peace her entire life and when surrender talks are threatened by a conspiracy lead by her people, Laney must choose. Will she submit to the alien invader or lead the fight against him?

I got this book for free and really didn't have high expectations for it. I've been reading alot of free books lately and even though they all have different authors they are all the same, which is to say not very good. So I found myself surprised when I really got into it. I found myself looking forward to getting back to it whenever I had to stop. I enjoyed the writing style, the characters were well drawn, and the story was engaging. I definitely recommend this book and will be purchasing the next one.

A decent enough "aliens need human mates to avoid extinction" story, with two strong, well-defined leads & some intriguing (but vague) background politics. There are points which should have been fleshed out better - like what the heck actually *happened* at Roses - & surely a sergeant major would not call a general by his first name, even if they are friends. Plus I am sick & tired of male leads who spring "magical" bonds on the female without her knowledge or consent. This is *not* ok, people.

Awful... Why is it always about men belittling and subjugating women.. Not for me got about 8 chapters in and was throughly disgusted that the author would do this to other women, even fictionally... Deleted with gusto!

About the author

Loribelle Hunt is a beach bunny at heart, but in a pinch she’ll settle for a pool. An Atlanta native, the Army relocated her to southern Alabama more years ago than she cares to remember. Since it only snows once every two decades or so, she decided to stay. She lives with her husband of twenty years, their three kids, and way too many English Springer Spaniels. She writes science fiction and paranormal romance often with a Southern accent.
