About this eBook

Hot in Chicago series author Kate Meader returns with her all new, scorching Chicago Rebels hockey series, featuring her signature “steamy sex scenes, colorful characters, and riveting dialogue” (Romantic Times). Three estranged sisters inherit their late father’s failing hockey franchise and are forced to confront a man’s world, their family’s demons, and the battle-hardened ice warriors skating into their hearts.

Harper Chase has just become the most powerful woman in the NHL after the death of her father Clifford Chase, maverick owner of the Chicago Rebels. But the team is a hot mess—underfunded, overweight, and close to tapping out of the league. Hell-bent on turning the luckless franchise around, Harper won’t let anything stand in her way. Not her gender, not her sisters, and especially not a veteran player with an attitude problem and a smoldering gaze designed to melt her ice-compacted defenses.

Veteran center Remy “Jinx” DuPre is on the downside of a career that’s seen him win big sponsorships, fans’ hearts, and more than a few notches on his stick. Only one goal has eluded him: the Stanley Cup. Sure, he’s been labeled as the unluckiest guy in the league, but with his recent streak of good play, he knows this is his year. So why the hell is he being shunted off to a failing hockey franchise run by a ball-buster in heels? And is she seriously expecting him to lead her band of misfit losers to a coveted spot in the playoffs?

He’d have a better chance of leading Harper on a merry skate to his bed…

Kate Meader’s IRRESISTIBLE YOU is an excellent start to the Chicago Rebels series. I have been anxiously awaiting reading this book ever since I read IN SKATES TROUBLE (Chicago Rebels #.5) in the HOT ON ICE hockey anthology. I was not disappointed. I loved this book. Three half-sisters are left a hockey franchise, the Chicago Rebels. The team is in second to last place. The sisters need to turn the Rebels around. The first book focuses on the oldest daughter, Harper Chase. She has been groomed to take over the team and is disappointed when her father’s will stipulated that all three sisters are left the team and have a year to make the playoffs or lose the franchise. I love the plot. It was interesting and full of obstacles. I already liked Harper’s character in the prequel, IN SKATES TROUBLE. I was excited to hear her story. She is a strong character that is meant to run the Rebels. She is an excellent leader and knows her hockey. She brings in veteran center Remy “Jinx” DuPre to motivate the team. Understandably, DuPre was not happy to be traded to a team that was in second to last place. The two butt heads but can’t deny that they are attracted to each other. Of course, Harper being Remy’s boss complicates matters. They have great chemistry and are an interesting couple. I enjoy Kate Meader’s writing style. The story flowed well. I was not able to put down the book. There were some good life lessons in the story. I loved the scene where Remy and Harper played video games against each other. IRRESISTIBLE YOU had a great ending. I look forward to reading middle sister, Isobel Chase’s story in the next book, SO OVER YOU. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

After reading In Skates Trouble, the Chicago Rebels teaser novella (loved it!), I couldn't wait for more of Kate Meader's hot, sexy, hockey players and was so happy to have the opportunity to download an early copy from NetGalley. IRRESISTIBLE YOU more than fulfilled my hopes for another great story in her new series. Harper Chase is finally achieving her dreams as owner of the Chicago Rebels pro hockey team. So what if they are second to last in the league. She has faith in her guys, and the fire and drive to pull off a winning season. She's ready to do whatever it takes to make the finals despite the sports media taking pot shots at her at every turn. And so what if she has to share ownership with her two sisters. She's ready to make the most of that as well, as long as Isobel and Violet allow her to be the main decision maker. She's been preparing for this role all her life and she's more than ready. All she needs is a solid player who can lead her team into the finals. Remy Dupre is a sexy Cajun who plays center for Boston. He pushes himself to train harder than most of the players in the league and at 35 his body can't take much more. He knows his time in the NHL is coming to an end. Boston's got a good shot at going all the way and he's looking forward to finally winning the Cup and then retiring back home in New Orleans near his family. Remy is not at all happy to hear he's been traded to the Rebels and even less happy to hear from the new owner she's counting on him as a veteran player to pull her team together. He has dreams of his own and only one season left to reach them. Harper Chase will just have to adjust her plans! Despite being at odds in their professional goals, these two reach an accord. However, it's not their differences that makes it hard to work together, it's the irresistible attraction they both feel. Harper is having a hard enough time gaining respect for her position and having an affair with one of her players would destroy what little progress she's made. But whoa! That Cajun is one fine, sexy, sweet-talking man. And he can cook! Maybe just a taste would be okay? Great story of opposites attracting, LOVED Remy and Harper, solid cast of characters that I NEED more of, witty dialogue, panty-melting dirty talk, sexy pro athletes, sassy sisters bonding, lots of laughs, steamy, sensual, sex scenes, and did I mention Remy's masterful, seductive dirty talk? No wonder Harper couldn't resist him! I highly recommend this series. Now I can't wait for the next book, So Over You. 4.5 stars ~All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I wasn't sure I was going to like Harper.  When you first meet her she's a little harsh and brittle but Meader makes sure that you understand that most of it is a front.  She's under a lot of stress, with a lot of insecurities from her youth, and being thrown into the same orbit as her half-sisters and the man that she can't have isn't helping.  Before too long I found myself with all sorts of feels for the poor woman.  But you can't feel too bad for her once Remy turns his attention her way! The youngest with a whole passel of sisters and nieces, Remy was guaranteed to be perfect hero material ... even if he is surrounded by testosterone as a hockey player :)  He's patient and understanding, but also with a streak of charming bad boy in him.  He's the perfect balance of Alpha and sensitive.  He's good for Harper, supportive & caring, and he keeps her life from overtaking her.   My only trouble was with the ending because it's just hard when Harper has been so adamant about how she is perceived.  But you knew it was going to work out some way and I'm pretty sure that this is the only way it would have been satisfying.   Definitely an engrossing read and I'm so intrigued by the other sisters & where there stories are going.  Meader did an amazing job of giving this group of people complexity and depth.  You can't help but want to get to know all of their secrets! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***
