Anna is independent and strong and determined. I like her drive to be her best. When Jackson appears I like her respons and her internal waffling. I love that Jackson learns to communicate and that he really does fall hard. I don't really like Chase. I don't really understand how they are friends, either of them. I am glad no more time has passed before they reconnect. I understand Anna's hesitancy, I don't like it but I understand it. I love her brother and her friends Deliah and Olivia. Her dog Chewie is a great draw to bring them closer. The drama with Nick is intense and keeps you on edge. The writing is a nice example of good craftsmanship. I love that they finally each got out of their own way and realize that friends with benefits is only a smokescreen to cover their truth. I want more of their after story, holidays and vacations with his parents and her brother Bobby and his story, does Bobby find his one?. I really enjoyed Jackson and Anna's second chance romance and was completely absorbed by their story from the first chapter. There were plenty of misunderstandings, miscommunication and mistakes, but also sizzling chemistry, compassion and caring. The underlying subplot of sexual harassment in the workplace was very real and uncomfortable, but overall this was a beautiful love story about opening yourself up to being vulnerable with another person and being true to yourself.
