About this ebook

In this town he’s always been guilty...

Ex-con Joe Brody has been called a lot of things. Some true. Some not. But now that he's out of prison and back in his hometown his focus is finding a job and a home where his ill father can convalesce. Easier said than done when no one will hire him.

Ashley Cade has a teething toddler and lives with an elderly man as part of an agreement she made to buy his house. Complicated? Not as much as it sounds. Wilson is a dear and his huge Victorian a gem in the rough. The lonely old man even recommends a friend's son as a handyman to help with the repairs and finally Ashley is making progress. And Joe? Joe is... intriguing to say the least.

But when the police chief tracks Joe down and Ashley discovers the truth, everything changes. Wilson swears Joe is innocent. Joe swears he's innocent. But the evidence says otherwise and she doesn't know who to believe when her future business—and her child's life—are at stake....

This book has a clean and wholesome version by Kay Lyons titled BRODY'S REDEMPTION. Ivy James is the alter-ego of Kay Lyons, who now focuses on sweet/clean and wholesome contemporary romance and romantic suspense. I loved the way Joe's name was cleared of being the murderer of his own baby girl Josie and how Ashley, along with her baby Max was intrumental in his redemption. Joe is a wonderful character: selfless, tender, considerate, hardworking, and many wonderful qualities. Ashley too was a delight to meet. Old man Wilson provides sarcastic comic relief with his banter while Max charms and endears with his adorable antics. It made for a great read: lovable characters, engaging writing, intriguing plot and a HEA😊

Joe Boyle is finally free from prison and trying to start over in his home town. Ashley Cade is trying to start over also following her husband's death, leaving her alone with her infant son. Two broken, untrusting lost souls meet in the same place, fearfully hoping for some acceptance.
