About this ebook

Jane Eyre is a first-person account from the viewpoint of the title character. The novel's setting takes place north of England and goes through five distinct stages of Jane’s life: While Jane served as governess at Thornfield Hall, she falls in love with her mysterious employer, Edward Fairfax Rochester. Although, while her time in the Moor House, her earnest but unemotional clergyman cousin, St. John Rivers, proposes to her. Jane must make the ultimate decision between these two men.

Throughout these sections, the novel provides perspectives on a number of important social issues and ideas, many of which are critical of the status quo.
