The only thing she was guilty of was trusting him

All Jenny Clifton ever wanted was to be the ideal wife and mother. When she married Michael in a fairytale wedding, followed by the birth of baby Daniel, her life was complete.

Yet just three years later, the shine has faded. Now, money is tight, and the occasional argument has become daily screaming matches between Jenny and Michael.

Something needs to change... and it does, when Michael is killed in a brutal hit and run, breathing his last with a stranger holding his hand.

Lonely and distraught, Jenny strikes up an unlikely friendship with the witness to the accident, clinging to the connection with the man who watched Michael die.

But as she uncovers the secrets that her husband was keeping, Jenny realises that her perfect life may have been a perfect lie - and worse, that her new friend may be harbouring dangerous secrets of his own...

A gripping, twisty psychological thriller packed with suspense and a jaw-dropping ending. Fans of T.M. Logan, C.L. Taylor and K.L. Slater won’t be able to put this one down.

J.A. has put together a well plotted story that has all the key ingredients that make up a great psychological thriller. It includes the perfect mix of secrets, lies, deceit, suspense and with a generous sprinkling of twists and turns along the way, makes this such an enjoyable read. It is a very character driven story and although I was not particularly fond of them, they are well fleshed out, interesting and have been written well. I was not completely without any empathy though for Jenny and her situation, but did at times have a hard time connecting with her. Each chapter ends with you wanting more and I enjoyed how the story kept moving without unnecessary filler chapters. There was some repetition, but this could be easily overlooked and while I felt it did lose some of its momentum in the middle, J.A. managed to steer it back on course for a thrilling ending. Along the way questions were formed in my mind that as I got closer to the end, I was worried that they would not be answered. I had nothing to fear though and J.A. wraps everything up where he saves the best for last with the epilogue, which was the perfect ending to the story. From the outset J.A had me well and truly hooked and invested in this story. There is nothing better than a gripping psychological thriller to sink your teeth into and J.A. delivers here and I will be on the lookout for what he comes up with next. Thank you to NetGalley, Hera Books and J.A. Andrews for allowing me to read an advanced copy of You Let Him In, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
