The book is overall a good read. The build up of suspense and tension in the story is done very well and then you sort of expect a very dramatic ending with a big twist that fitted everything together... which didn't really eventuate. The ending was quite simple and....well, a bit bland and not unexpected. So it's one of those stories that I'll read but won't want to go and re-read again.

I really enjoyed reading this book and couldn't put it down, finished it in a day! It was well written, the twists throughout were fantastic and I didn't see the ending coming - but I do admit I did feel a tad disappointed in the ending. A great book to dip your toe back into reading with, it had been a long while for me since I've read and The Girl Before has sparked that passion for reading in me again!

Really enjoyed this book i found it to be so well written, even though it swooped back & forth between two characters past & present it was so easy & simple to follow. I did find the ending a tad disappointing & perhaps a little rushed, but i will definitely be purchasing more from this author in the future.

His subsequent books Believe Me, The Perfect Wife, and Playing Nice were also top ten bestsellers, while Playing Nice was a Richard and Judy Book Club selection.
