This is a very sexy romance with a bit of spice. Kira is a scatterbrained party girl who is coerced into being an intern for Lorenzo, a very driven and focused businessman. They couldn't be more different, yet somehow are drawn to each other. While the plot has Lorenzo searching for evidence that someone is stealing from the company, it's really ancillary to the sexy romance. This book is all about how these two people get together and how their differences impact them. From naughty sex in the office, to domineering and controlling sex elsewhere, this is a very hot novel. While this book isn't for the younger readers, others will enjoy this fairy tale romp. I love this author's work and would have given this five stars if there'd been a bit more time spent on the plot. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Kira has been a failure all of her life. Suffering from ADHD, she has struggled to be the good girl her family has always wanted but in the process found failure and then death. When she is sent to spy on the son of her father’s boss, a man who at one time made her feel calm and at peace, she has no choice to say no if she wants to make at least one of her dreams come true. Lorenzo is out for revenge against his father. The last thing he wants or needs is an intern. Especially the girl who was so ill behaved as a child. He’s heard how reckless and irresponsible she is now that she’s grown. However, when he realizes he can use her in his plan to trap his father, he yields to her presence in his office. He didn’t realize he would soon be yearning for her presence in his bed as well. This is a fast paced story that actually deals with some rather deep emotional needs with both of these characters. While the storyline had great potential, I struggled to feel connected to Kira. Lorenzo was definitely the alpha in this relationship and they have some hot a steamy scenes! Ugh! I hate it when an author I love has a book that I just can't get into. This is that situation for me. Usually with a Jackie Ashenden book I am totally absorbed into the story. Even when I dislike the characters the story usually keeps my focus. With this one I not only disliked the hero, billionaire Lorenzo De Santis, immensely but the story lacked that wow factor and I found my mind drifting at times. Kira Constantin is his poor intern that has been forced on him and he lets her know how much he doesn't want her around. Yet he does. For his pleasure. Secretly she has her own agenda so I guess these two really deserve each other. The book didn't really work for me but as with all Ms. Ashenden's books the writing is excellent and the characters are well done and bring out your emotions.
