Wrong for Me

This is the 2nd book in the Motor City Royals series and even though it can be read as a standalone book I would highly recommend reading the first book in the series to get a full background of the characters and stories. Levi has spent the last 8 years in prison for manslaughter after saving his best friend, and long time secret crush, Rachel from being attacked in an alley. Levi would have done anything to protect the woman he loved but when she fails to give her statement to the cops and then never even visits during his time in jail Levi is forced to reevaluate their relationship and his goals. Levi is not the same man as he was, he is harder and colder and a loose cannon. He has gone from the fun loving best friend to a man hell bent on making others suffer the same way he has for the past eight years. Now that he is finally being released he is eager to get back home so he can begin his plans for pay back and all those plans start with Rachel. Rachel is nervous to see Levi again after all these years. How does she face the man who was her best friend, secret crush and idol. How can she ever look at him again after ruining his life and he doesn’t even know the whole story from the dark alley the night everything changed. She is disgusted and ashamed of herself and she only hopes he and everyone else never learns the dark secrets she is hiding. When Levi shows up at Rachel’s tattoo parlor Sugar Ink and gives her the ultimatum to give him everything he wants, the dream life he wanted with her, or else lose her business she thinks he is crazy. That is until he informs her that he is the owner of the building her business is in and if she doesn’t give him what he wants that he will kick her and her business to the curb. The chemistry between these two is hot and we see right off the bat that these two clearly have been lusting after each other for years. While there were times I wanted to reach thru my Kindle and smack Levi for being an ass I found myself also feeling sorry for the man who doesn’t know who to move one. These both have been dealt some really bad hands in life and I found myself praying that these two got the HEA they both needed and deserved. I am super excited for the next book in the series; I really want to find out all about Gideon’s past and hopefully give him and Zoe their HEA. Dark, edgy, and soooo good!! Emotions long pushed down come bubbling out as Levi returns after 8 years in prison. Eight years that he can never get back and possibly wouldn't have lost if it not for her. Revenge will be his though and he's been plotting and working toward that for all eight years she refused to come she him will he was away. They had once been best friends now he had no idea. How he could love and hate the same woman is hard to understand but that's exactly how Levi feels for Rachel. Which emotion eventually wins out is anyone's guess but one thing is for sure. The ride to their story's end will be a wild one! I loved this book and definitely recommend it to everyone.
