About this ebook

'I looked at my mum then and knew I hated my dad.'

When life with Jayni's violent-tempered father becomes too frightening to cope with, Jayni, her mum and her little brother Kenny are forced to escape in the middle of the night.

Slipping out of the house unseen, travelling up to London by train and checking into a hotel - it's almost like playing an elaborate game. They even make up false identities to protect their secret, and Jayni becomes the glamorous-sounding Lola Rose. But when money runs out and reality bites, what will they do next?

This book features a depiction of domestic violence.

A brilliantly crafted, frank and true-to-life story of modern family life from award-winning Jacqueline Wilson.

People are saying this book isn't for kids....but it should be in EVERY SCHOOL. 1 in 5 children will experience domestic violence in the UK. help give them a voice by showing people like them overcoming that violence by speaking out.

In quite a lot of shops this book has been in the kids section. Its not for kids! Its got horrible horrible abuse in it say things like "I saw my mom black all over her chest dad keeps abusing her". I'm only 12 and read this when I was 11 I was caught reading this new book my mom read 3 chapters and was completely apauled! A week after we went to water stones and got a book my mom complained about that book and said to remove it from the kids section. Jacqueline Wilson needs to write about more kiddy things
