About this eBook

"Bigger and bigger grew the peach, bigger and bigger and BIGGER."

James Henry Trotter is about to go on the adventure of a lifetime.

James lives his awful Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker, two of the meanest people you can imagine.

Life isn't much fun at all, until something peculiar happens at the bottom of his garden . . .

A peach at the very top of a tree begins to grow . . . and grow . . . and GROW! Inside are seven very unusual insects - all waiting to take James on a magical journey.

The text in this edition of James and the Giant Peach was updated in 2022 for young independent readers.

Roald Dahl's first children's book. James is such an adorable, clever, kind-hearted little boy with golden hair. I like the Cloud-Men part most, dislike the New York part most. In Roald's book Americans tend to make a fuss about anything they don't know, like the Giant Peach and the Great Glass Elevator. Kinda funny to see them panic and then find out it's just some friendly, strange people from England with something they had never imagined before. Oh and the ending, it is one of the most heart-warming ending in all his books! The rhythm in this book is not as good as those in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory(my opinion), but still, good enough:) [April, 2012]
