I absolutely loved it!! I couldn't put it down for long. Initially, I found it challenging to read but soon got used to the language, and then I was hooked.

I've read this three times and I"ve no doubt that I'll read it several times more. To-date, there's no other book that I've read again. I love historical romances and this is one naturally, having been written in the 17th century. It's a mixture of humor -- especially with regard to the cousin -- sistership, mismatches, misunderstandings, mistrust, misguidance, and miscommunication, along with the haughty, deceit, jealousy, a mother and father with completely opposite personalities, and a HEA (we assume) ending. I've read all of Jane Austen's books and seen all the movies based on them. Sense and Sensibility is a favorite, as is Persuasion. Pride and Prejudice has been made into movies and miniseries. The one with Keira Knightley strays too far from the book, although it's still enjoyable. I have an old B&W VHS version made in the 1940s that is great, and I've watched two different BBC miniseries, one with Colin Fírth as Mr. Darcy. You can watch that on YouTube to see the difference.
