The Spiderverse has gotten crowded lately, and the many tie-ins sometimes make Spider-Gwen hard to follow in a void, but that aside I'm quite enamored of this series. The lead is well-written and the supporting cast sufficiently fleshed-out to provide ample material for good storytelling, which Latour generally delivers. Spider-Gwen stands strongly on her own, but the expected references and homages will also bring smiles to fans of Spider-Man. The art is bold but not unsubtle, a fitting style for Gwen's punk rock vibe. My biggest concern is that Latour's storytelling in this series is rather trope-heavy, which always carries the danger of cliché. So far- thankfully- this trap has been avoided. I'm optimistic for the future of Spider-Gwen, and looking forward to her next adventure. Recommended.

I'm getting very invested in this series, but it seems like I keep on missing crucial storylines when I start a new issue. Peter's death preceding what I thought was issue 1, and "the war for the whole of reality" that Gwen mentions in what I thought was issue 2. Please tell me if I'm missing something here.

I met the Spider-verse in the 90's animated series and started reading comics because of it and the X-men cartoon. I lost interest in comics in the early 2000's in favor of video games and movies. I saw this comic and now I'm back reading. In my opinion this is the best re-imagining of the the Spider-Man to date, always loved Gwen as character love her even more now. This is my 1st digital comic purchase ever, and my new favorite comic ever. Great work Jason Latour and any one who worked on this comic book series, and thank you so much for re-kindling my love for reading comics, and opening my eyes to the world of digital reading.
