About this ebook

WHAT JUST HAPPENED?

The human cost of the emergency response to COVID-19 has far outweighed the benefits. That’s the sobering verdict of a trio of scholars—a biologist, a statistician, and a philosopher— in this comprehensive assessment of the worst panic-induced disaster in history.

As the media fanned the flames of panic, government officials and a new elite of scientific experts ignored the established protocols for mitigating a dangerous disease. Instead, they shut down the world economy, closed every school, confined citizens to their homes, and threatened to enforce a regime of extreme social distancing indefinitely.

And the American public—amazingly enough—complied without protest. Modestly but relentlessly focused on what we know and don’t know about the coronavirus, Douglas Axe, William M. Briggs, and Jay W. Richards demonstrate in this eye-opening study what real experts can contribute when a pandemic strikes.

In the early spring of 2020, the panic of government officials, the hysteria of the media, and the hubris of suddenly powerful scientists produced a worldwide calamity. The Price of Panic is the essential book for understanding what happened and how to avoid repeating our deadly mistakes.

This book was very easy to read and follow the authors arguments. They made a good case for their cause and I hope that people listen to what they have to say. If you have been disturbed by our response, you will no doubt love this book. If you are deathly afraid of the virus, you will most likely think this book is a national horror. Either way, I think it is work your time examining the main event of 2020, Covid-19, with a sympathetic eye to each side. After all, this won't be the last time we meet a deadly contagion and having a level head is the only way to approach these events.

Disclaimer: I have NOT read this book! But I'm trying to figure out why this has only 1 star? There is ONE review here which gave this book FIVE STARS. So how is it rated only ONE? I'm giving this 5 stars because it's ridiculous that a book WITH a 5 star review only SHOWS 1 star... I now DEFINITELY plan on reading this, because this isn't "accidental." Just like the leftist media REFUSING to cover the Biden scandal, continuing to lie about things president Trump has said (or HASN'T said, like, "He has NOT condoned white supremacy!" YES HE HAS. ABOUT A MILLION TIMES, but the media refuses to show that.) Anyways, will update rating when I do. 1 star my big toe... Censorship much?
