Tinkering With the Past . . . As tempting as it sounds, trying to change the past is not a safe or guaranteed way to improve your life. Joey Whitmore is 42 and experiencing one failure after another. Living with her mother, losing her job, she is feeling very depressed. When a Fae prince Robin Goodfellow approaches her, he offers a magical hourglass that will allow her to go back to the past and “fix” what went wrong in her life. In her case, it was an injury to her wrist that ruined her opportunity to become a skilled gymnast. She has fixated on that event as what has ruined her life ever since. Joey’s clumsy efforts to fix her past end up with serious consequences. There is always a cost to the things we do. Our decisions shape us and, right or wrong, they make us the person we are. Trying to change even one thing, could she be putting her own existence in jeopardy?

Jennifer L Hart has joined the ranks of other great authors embracing the fact that women do still have a life once they turn 40. The character work in this book was well done and the story line had me laughing. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
