Hidden Danger is the first book in Jerusha Agen’s Guardians Unleashed series. This series follows a group of females and their amazing dogs that make up the Phoenix K-9 Security and Protection Agency. Cora and her narcotics detection dog, Jana, are the focus of this first novel. Cora is strong in her faith, but often weak in her view of how valuable she is to God and those around her. I loved how Cora clung to her faith in God amid so much adversity. DEA Special agent Kent Thomson is Cora’s opposite in many ways. He is totally reliant upon himself and sees faith and even kindness as a weakness that he can’t afford. His relationships reflect this belief, that is, until he meets Cora. The progression of their relationship is one of my favorite parts of this novel. Agen’s story is not just a romance, however, it is an attention-grabbing suspense! Both Kent and Cora want to take down a drug cartel that has affected their pasts. These two and their colleagues face some intense situations from the very beginning. Agen also does a fantastic job of tying everything up by the final page. I highly enjoyed this book and recommend it for readers of Christian romantic suspense. I was given a copy of this book by the author. All opinions are my own.

Hidden Danger is full of suspense, romance, and faith! It was hard to put it down when life got in the way. (Kidding!) I liked seeing the transformation of Kent. Cora had a heart of gold and I liked her character, but wanted to have a heart-to-heart with her about what she viewed as a mistake she’d made. I’m glad Bris helped set her straight that what Cora thought was her mistake wasn’t really a mistake. I look forward to learning more about the other members of the Phoenix K-9 family in future books. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

It's a race against time! Cora, the quiet, God-fearing, woman with a K-9 drug sniffing dog and Kent, the jaded, hardened DEA agent, both have reasons for wanting the drug cartel to be taken down. Now they have to work together to do that and neither one finds the other's tactics plausible. They both have family issues that brought them to this point and are determined to bring down the cartel that is ravaging the area so it won't affect any more families like theirs. There are a lot of twists and turns in this story. Cora belongs to an elite group called Phoenix K-9s which are women who have extraordinary skills along with being K-9 handlers. Kent is astounded at their skills. As they work their way up the "chain" of people in the drug cartel, will they be able to get to the kingpin himself and take him down? Can they "flip" some of the dealers to work with them so they can get inside of the organization and get tipped off? A lot of action and you are always wondering what will happen next!
