J. Inder Singh (Jiggs) Kalra, celebrated food columnist and author, gastronome and food consultant, is Chairman and Managing Director, Jiggs Kalra Food Services Pvt. He has planned menus for the Meridien, Bahrain, The Great Kebab Factory, Delhi, and Kinara and Hazara, Singapore. Jiggs Kalra has developed flavours for Frito Lay, the snack division of Pepsico, potato entree and snacks for Aviko, Holland, one of the world's largest potato processing companies, masala combinations for MTR, Bangalore and sauces and chutneys for Bector Foods, Ludhiana.
About the author
Jiggs KaIra conducted Festivals of India frequently both in India and abroad. He represented India at the Peabody Hotel (Memphis in May festival, USA 1999), the first World Gourmet Summit in Singapore, the St. Moritz Winter Festival in Switzerland, and the third Food and Wine Festival in Singapore. Jiggs continued to write extensively in newspapers and journals of repute and had anchored two very popular Television programmes—Aique ka Safar and Daawat: An Invitation to Indian Cooking.
Pushpesh Pant is an academic, author and freelance TV producer. He has researched and scripted extensively for television, and produced telefilms and documentaries on subjects like national movements, literary heritage and the environment. He is expert consultant for educational TV programmes to various universities and is on the advisory panel of the National Book Trust. He participates frequently in telecasts by Doordarshan and the BBC.
