This is the third book in the Texas Playmakers series, but it's the first one I've read. It's a wonderful story of a second chance at love. The chemistry between Wes and Emma is so good I can't wait to go back and read the first two stories. Emma wants to make a permanent home in the small town of Last Stand, Texas. But as much as she still cares for Wes, she knows he will not stay in town while he follows his dream to play baseball, so she decides to find a husband through process of elimination by dating the decent guys living in the small town she fell in love with. Wes isn't sure he can handle seeing her date one man after another knowing she still holds a place in his heart. Can he talk Emma into taking a chance to revisit the love they once shared? Or will she follow her head instead of her heart. I received a copy of this book from the publisher and my review is voluntary.

We are back in Last Stand, TX with the legendary Ramsey siblings. Two of these handsome baseball players have found their significant other. Wes did too six years ago, but Emma Garcia refused to leave town , and Wes needed to go to pursue his career. Now back, Wes is determined to have a second chance with Emma. Though his intend was to slowly woo her, but when he finds out she’s trying speed dating in order to find a man to marry, he knows taking it slowly is not going to work. Emma’s reasons to find stability is a reaction to her childhood . One in which her flighty mother took her all over the USA. Will Wes convince her to give them a chance, or is this chance at love be just a memory? Aside from the plot of the story, it’s a story about the effects ones childhood has on one as an adult. How family dynamics or lack thereof, also molds our decisions and how “home” is not a place, but a state of mind when you find the one you love and loves you back even more. Lastly, Ty’s and Alexi’s story was sweet, touching and real. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Tule Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I loved how this wasn't really just Wes and Emma but also a side story of Ty and Alexi which interweaves with We and Emma's. I really liked how Wes and Emma had a past but boy do they like to dodge it at ties instead of actually talking about it and Emma would irk me every now and then with how she would dodge Wes or deflect what he says, I get she doesn't want to be hurt but she is the one that says right at the beginning she would move in order to find the right guy. This is a sweet second chance love story with highs and lows, dreams and pressures as well as figuring out what you really want in life and thank gawd for Granddad Everette I love him to bites! 🥰
