John C. Bodin and Ron Collins met while working at the Naval Avioncs Center, located (naturally) in Indianapolis, Indiana. They quickly learned they both had natural affinities for automobile racing and day-tight compartments. Only some years later did they realize they both were writing on the side, a pairing that led to them being involved in the same writers group.
Somewhere along the way, John got Ron hooked on sim racing (that's Ron's story, anyway), and they joined the Virtual Online Racers (VOR) as a team racing in the Grand Prix Legends simulation.
From that point forward, a literary collaboration was pre-destined. John C. Bodin: By nighttime, John C. Bodin is a well-known superhero of the sim racing community, and is a tireless advocate of the sport. He can be found on the iRacing track and in their forum boards pretty much every day, and is a staunch advocate of new racers. He spends hours helping new members get comfortable in what can feel like an intimidating environment. He also works at developing mods and hardware that supports virtual racers everywhere. In the daytime, John now works at a major pharmaceutical company as a process automation engineer in the information technology field. He lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, with his wife, Tammy, his daughters Sadie and Ellie, and a basketful of puppies.
In addition to his work with John C. Bodin, Ron Collins has contributed nearly 200 stories to professional publications including Analog, Asimov's, and Nature. His writing has received a Writers of the Future prize, and a CompuServe HOMer Award. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and has worked developing avionics systems, electronics, and information technology.
Ron Collins is a best-selling Science Fiction and Dark Fantasy author who writes across the spectrum of speculative fiction.
His SF series Stealing the Sun has topped Amazon’s Hard Science Fiction charts. His fantasy series Saga of the God-Touched Mage reached #1 on Amazon's bestselling dark fantasy list in the UK and #2 in the US. His short fiction has received a Writers of the Future prize and a CompuServe HOMer Award, and his short story "The White Game" was nominated for the Short Mystery Fiction Society's 2016 Derringer Award.
He has contributed a hundred or so short stories to Analog, Asimov's, Fiction River Anthology Series, and several other professional magazines and anthologies.
He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and has worked to develop avionics systems, electronics, and information technology before chucking it all to write full-time.
