About this ebook

*** The Number One Bestseller ***

EVIL TAKES MANY FORMS.
PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR CHARLIE PARKER HUNTS THEM ALL.

Jerome Burnel was once a hero. He intervened to prevent multiple killings and in doing so damned himself. His life was torn apart.

But in his final days, with the hunters circling, he tells his story to private detective Charlie Parker. He speaks of the girl who was marked for death but was saved, of the ones who tormented him, and an entity that hides in a ruined stockade.

Parker is not like other men. He is ready to wage war. Now he will descend upon a strange, isolated community called the Cut, and face down a force of men who rule by terror, intimidation, and murder.

All in the name of the being they serve. All in the name of the Dead King.

From the number one Sunday Times and multi-million-copy bestselling author John Connolly comes the most compelling and unsettling Charlie Parker thriller yet.

The Charlie Parker novels can be read and enjoyed in any order. A Time of Torment is the fourteenth book in this globally bestselling series.

I love these characters. Charlie Parker is an old friend who has been to hell & back. You're happy to have him over to dinner now & then, just to check in; knowing invitations over and above now & then would be refused. If the menu was delicate enough, then maybe we could invite Angel and Lewis. For Lewis' refined palette and, hopefully, Angel might, having realised the menu, dressed for dinner in a certain suit. Dinner conversations would surely take you to places you'd never think to go. More please.

Not as chilling or thrilling as his earlier books, got the impression that JC was just churning this out. Always looked forwad to his next book when I had just finished his latest but this has left me indifferent towards his next book, will probably wait until its reduced on google play or in the second hand book shops. Sorry about the mediocre reviw but I'm disappointed as usually I can't put down a JC novel but it took me about two weeks to read this!
