About this ebook

Get a free taste of Chew, the Eisner and Harvey Award-winning, NY Times bestselling comic from Image Comics. Tony Chu is a cop with a secret. A weird secret. Tony Chu is Cibopathic, which means he gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats. It also means he's a hell of a detective, as long as he doesn't mind nibbling on the corpse of a murder victim to figure out whodunit, and why. It's a dirty job, and Tony has to eat terrible things in the name of justice. And if that wasn't bad enough, the government has figured out Tony Chu's secret. They have plans for him, whether he likes it or not. Presenting a twisted new series about cops, crooks, cooks, cannibals and clairvoyants, written by John Layman (Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness, House of M: Fantastic Four and Puffed) with mind-blowing art by astonishing comics newcomer Rob Guillory.

The start here is good and creative The art the style is a bit funky but cool unique and funny with funny proportions, bold coloring not too creative paneling but some multi panels with the tasting are great. It lacks later on really interesting villains and switches to a semi superhero style whereas a hard boiled or detective stories would be a rather fitting plot and some characters aren't too interesting much later in volume 4 and so on it sometimes fell flat for me . But I always thought it could make a grea series for TV at least loosely based on..

Chew is a seriously weird and wacky comic book series that I can't get enough of. John Layman's writing is sharp, witty, and full of dark humor. The art by Rob Guillory is absolutely stunning, with a unique style that perfectly complements the story. If you're looking for something completely different and utterly addictive, Chew is definitely worth checking out.

This is a gateway comic book. If you read it you may have to buy further issues. I've just finished volume 1 & 2, and am downloading volume 3. Save yourself and don't read this even if its free.
