I enjoyed this sequel, but not as much as I expected to... The villains were certainly nefarious, and who doesn't love a good WWII connection? But for some reason, I found this book's pacing to be off, somewhat slower. And the plot was a lot more predictable than _Patient Zero_'s. The end was satisfying, and while I am looking forward to seeing what Maberry creates next, I'm not dying till it's October. I wish I could pinpoint what exactly it was about this book that slowed it down, because I really enjoyed so many elements of it. The characters were all believable and, for the most part, likable. The science stuff was really neat, but I guess I wanted the end to have tied up more of the repercussions...
Still, I will definitely be keeping up with the series, and I am curious to see what supervillains Maberry creates next for Joe Ledger to defeat.

Dont read much but picked this up at a bookstore and couldn't put it down, nice read. Short chapters give it a movie-esque feel, almost like you're reading scene after scene of a script. Alot of action, suspense and some weird sex, wish it were funnier tho, overall great

When I found the first Joe Ledger book, Patient Zero, I thought okay, zombies. I was on a fantastic ride with Jonathan Maberry! The Dragon Factory is great. Love the twins! I've since read the King of Plagues, another good one, I have yet to be disappointed. the Joe Ledger character is so memorable, with so many flaws, and yet he is such a heroic kind of guy - not that Joe would say very much about that. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Hollywood will finally latch onto the Joe Ledger books - and have the cojones to actually make it a great movie. This character, and Maberry - deserve the best.
