About this ebook

Victor loves vintage cars and belting out songs in his garage band, but school is harder for him and he seems to always say the wrong thing. When he meets the cello-playing, straight-A student Marie-Jo, the two strike up an unlikely friendship, and before long both his grades and his attitude improve. But when Marie-Jo confesses a terrible secret to him, Victor will have to return the favor and do a little rescuing of his own.

About the author

When Joris Chamblain was born in 1984, he landed in a pile of Mickey Mouse comics, and not long after that, he decided he'd make a career of it. His first comics series, "Les Carnets de Cerise" ("Cici's Journal") was an immediate success upon its launch, leading to 20 international editions and almost two million copies sold. In addition, he's written scripts for several young readers' series, published by various publishers. He's even created scripts for two volumes of the celebrated "Yakari" series, and, in 2022, began work on a Mickey Mouse story for Glénat. His childhood dream truly has come true... Upon his return from a book fair, he crossed paths with his former French teacher, Pascal Ruter, who had since become a successful novelist. Joris decided to read Pascal's first book, "Le Coeur en braille," and instantly fell in love! He decided to adapt it into a three-part graphic novel with the help of illustrator Anne-lise Nalin. The first part was published by Dargaud in 2023 (Europe Comics 2023, for the English edition, entitled "My Heart in Braille").

Anne-lise Nalin was born in 1992 in Marseille. Before graduating from high school, she began a successful blog. She was nominated for several awards and began publishing her work in fanzines. Later, she joined publishing collectives and projects, progressively leading to her illustration débuts with various established publishers such as Bayard, Milan, Rageot, Flammarion, Delcourt, Dupuis, Fleurus, and Nathan. She also published several young readers' series and, in 2014, began publishing full albums. Her first collaboration with Joris Chamblain was in 2017, when she worked on "Journal d'un enfant de lune" and, in 2023, they renewed their teamwork on "Le Coeur en braille," published by Dargaud in 2023 (Europe Comics 2023, for the English edition, entitled "My Heart in Braille").
