About the author
Moses Joseph Roth nació en Brody, Imperio austrohúngaro, el 2 de septiembre de 1894. Si bien Roth siempre dio versiones contradictorias sobre su vida, la biografía publicada por David Bronsen, Joseph Roth. Eine Biographie, en 1974 es la más aceptada hoy en día y de donde se pueden extraer sus datos biográficos. En la Primera Guerra Mundial fue parte del ejército austríaco. En 1933, con la llegada del nazismo al poder, sus obras fueron quemadas. Entre sus libros más conocidos están La rebelión y La leyenda del santo bebedor, de próxima publicación en Ediciones Godot.
