About this ebook

Josh Malerman’s debut novel Bird Box is a terrifying, Hitchcockesque psychological horror that is sure to stay with you long after reading.

Most people dismissed the reports on the news. But they became too frequent; they became too real. And soon it was happening to people we knew.

Then the Internet died. The televisions and radios went silent. The phones stopped ringing

And we couldn’t look outside anymore.

I like that the book provides more of an explanation about the creatures than the film. I would have like to have heard what occured from Tom's perspective into the second visit outside. I also would have like to have read more about the deaths as we had grown close to the characters. Overall I enjoyed the book.

A very compelling book about a post-apocalyptic landscape. "Bird Box" brings a new spin on the genre - with great pacing, characterisation and plotline. Without giving too much away - ideal for zombie lovers but original enough to be fresh. Don't start reading with little time to spare - you won't be able to put it down!

I read this after watching the movie and I really enjoyed it. It was very interesting to see how different aspects of the story were portrayed compared to how they occurred in the movie and vice versa.
