This is a sweet book about two people that struggle with love for different reasons, and how the found each other. Standalone with no cliffhangers. Digby grew up in a wealthy family with 2 amazing brothers but terrible parents. He doesn't have room in his life to love, he can't risk it. Bay grew up happy until she started to have her own opinion, then her parents pulled away. Now she finds herself looking for work and trying to raise her niece Olivia. She can't risk loosing Liv to her parents by getting involved with a playboy. Lots of strong emotions in this book, its worth your time and money. Bay and Digby meet when Bay is set up through Digby’s sister in law to interview for a job as an interior decorator. Both of them have an instant attraction and chemistry for each other. Digby is wary of love and trusting others and letting them in and has vowed to never marry or have kids. Bay is six months into being the sole guardian for her niece after the death of her sister and her husband. Both Bay and Digby have in common families that were not the warmest or loving and both carry with them the baggage that comes from growing up in a toxic environment. In addition, both have family drama that continues to complicate their lives. This was an incredibly sweet romance filled with angst and a lot of emotions. I’ve been a Harlquin Presents/Mills & Boon Modern fan for a long time, but haven’t actually read one in the last few years. This is my first in a long while and my first Joss Woods book, but it most defnitely won’t be my last. I loved that although this features a “billionaire” and he definitely is the typical Presents/Modern hero, he also had a sweet and vulnerable aspect to him that really added to the emotions in the story. I also loved that Bay was no doormat, and stood her ground, but also didn’t spend her time constantly fighting against the Digby. This was emtional, angsty but also sweet and I highly recommend it. Despite it being part of a series, it is also a standalone. I have not read the first one in this series, yet had no trouble following along. Thank you to Booksprout and Harlequin for the Advanced Reader Copy. I have voluntarily left an honest review.

This is book two in The South Africa's Scandalous Billionaire Series and it is Bay and Digby's story. Bay and Digby have instant chemistry that is so strong that you could feel it sizzling of the pages of this book. Bay needs the job at the Cape Town Hotel so that she can earn enough money to win the custody of her orphaned niece but things don't always go as planned as she fights her attraction to Digby but will she be able to keep her distance from him to be able to do what she needs to for her niece. Digby is a billionaire and he enjoys his life and that means no drama, relationships or commitments but when he meets Bay he realised he she makes him feel things that he has avoided but how will things turn out if they give in to there chemistry. I absolutely love this book and I couldn't put it down as I wanted to see what would happen next for them. I definitely recommend you read this book and you will definitely not be disappointed as Joss Wood is an amazing author and writer and her books are definitely worth reading.
