About this ebook

The international bestseller about life, the universe and everything.

'A simply wonderful, irresistible book' DAILY TELEGRAPH

'A terrifically entertaining and imaginative story wrapped round its tough, thought-provoking philosophical heart' DAILY MAIL

'Remarkable ... an extraordinary achievement' SUNDAY TIMES

When 14-year-old Sophie encounters a mysterious mentor who introduces her to philosophy, mysteries deepen in her own life. Why does she keep getting postcards addressed to another girl? Who is the other girl? And who, for that matter, is Sophie herself? To solve the riddle, she uses her new knowledge of philosophy, but the truth is far stranger than she could have imagined.

A phenomenal worldwide bestseller, SOPHIE'S WORLD sets out to draw teenagers into the world of Socrates, Descartes, Spinoza, Hegel and all the great philosophers. A brilliantly original and fascinating story with many twists and turns, it raises profound questions about the meaning of life and the origin of the universe.

Anyone who's interested in philosophy, let's grab this book! This book is kind of a 'dictionary' or even 'a basic guidance'; A lot of important people and their curiosity-philosophical thinking are included in this book. The storyline is very interesting, combining the philosophical history with fiction, and it doesn't offer complicated understanding. Very reccomended, esspecially for the beginner or the one who wants to read a deep and more serious philosophical book.

Entertaining and informative. This book helped me form a broader understanding of history and philosophy and how everything comes together to form our world view. On almost every page you can find food for thought to let your mind wander off with. And it's all wrapped up in a fun and exciting story, so you don't even notice you're actually learning something.

When I started reading this book, I thought that the book is about a young girl and the general mystery in life and her story. But as I started reading, I realized how different the theme actually is. I can conclude by saying that I read a book written by a woman about a man... Because if i say any further, it will spoil the fun. Well i really could sort of relate to Sophie's world because i am close to her age and you know the the book really makes you wonder about all the questions asked...
