About this ebook

Isla Perry had already told herself a story of what jury duty would be like before she took her seat in the court room. She would do the right thing. She would be on the side of justice. And she would go home when it was all said and done to return to her normal life.

She never expected to have to bear witness to the gritty details of the high-profile homicide of the defendant’s wife.

Milo Ford. Murderer. Wife killer. Evil.

Or is he?

Isla finds herself outnumbered. The jury thinks Milo is guilty, but Isla? She’s not so sure. The case is circumstantial. She’s drowning in her own reasonable doubt. And after a month-long trial, she folds, agreeing to cast her vote as guilty.

It eats away at her.

Did she send an innocent man to prison?

When her guilt becomes compounded by the death of a beloved aunt, she vows to do the right thing and help Milo Ford, even if it feels like the whole world is against her.

And so is Ford himself.

I adored Isla. From the first moment we met her, there was just something about her I could connect with. On the other hand, just about everybody else in the book was getting a skeptical side-eye from me as I read. I was fascinated by what it took for Isla to prove her theory and I’m certain there’s a lot more going on that we don’t have a clue about yet. I can’t wait to discover it all. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.

Isla Perry is on a jury to decide the fate of Milo accused of killing his wife. Isla and one other juror do not think he is guilty. Peer pressure from the other members of the jury and they cave in. Isla is determined to prove he is not guilty.

We first meet sweet Isla, who is on the Jury, that was encouraged by her aunty. Milo is on trial for the suspected murder of his wife, Nell. Milo keeps saying he is innocent but no one is listening but Isla. Isla doesn't believe that Milo is Guilty of murder but is then pushed into giving a verdict she didn't want to give. That is when things start to get interesting. I highly recommend that you read this book to find out more....
