About this ebook

From bestselling romance author Julia Jarrett comes a steamy small town romance. Opposites attract and sparks fly between a bad boy billionaire and the introverted bookstore owner.

When my job lands me in Dogwood Cove, I have no intention of pretending to be someone I’m not. I especially didn’t intend to fall for a cautious, small-town bookstore owner who brings out a side of me I was convinced no longer existed.

We couldn’t be more opposite, but I can’t seem to stay away from her.

The problem is, if Paige knew the truth of who I was, how broken I really am, she’d run in the other direction. My emotional scars run deep, the chains of guilt weigh me down.

So when the truth comes to light, will I lose the love that has changed me forever?

Truth and Temptation is a heartwarming, swoony love story, perfect for readers who enjoy steamy small town romance with a heroine who has no idea what she’s missing in her love life, and a broken alpha hero determined to help her figure it out. Readers who want a dash of angst and a heavy dose of spice, with characters who help heal each other, and grow together as they fall in love with a guaranteed HEA. It is the fourth book in the Dogwood Cove series and can be read as a standalone, although the series is best enjoyed if read in order.

This series is for fans of Melanie Harlow, Adriana Locke, Claire Kingsley, Lucy Score, Laura Pavlov, Tia Louise, Jami Albright, Kandi Steiner and more.

Love and healing unfold in the most heartwarming way in this book. The chemistry between Paige and Wyatt is simply delightful. From their initial encounter, you can sense the attraction simmering beneath the surface, even if they both try to resist it. Their connection is a joy to witness, and as they navigate the ups and downs of their budding relationship, I could help but root for them. One of the most endearing aspects of this story is how it explores these characters' complications and vulnerabilities. Paige's experience with never having had the "big O" and Wyatt's struggle with his traumatic past make them feel remarkably real and relatable. What makes these main characters truly special is their relatability. Paige's social anxiety and sheltered upbringing due to her health issues make her a character I can empathize with. Wyatt, on the other hand, is harboring deep trauma related to his brother's death. These dynamics add a layer of complexity to his character.

Catching feelings for someone was the last thing on Wyatt’s mind when he showed up in Dogwood Cove. He’s just here for a quick respite from the job he never wanted. He certainly didn’t expect to come across quirky, smart, and beautifully awkward Paige, the owner of a small local bookstore. The connection between them is strong, and neither are prepared for the complications that arise when a fling turns into so much more. Wyatt and Paige are freakin adorable! This story is sweet and full of delightfully awkward moments that I may relate to a wee bit too much. I really enjoyed how this story focused on the internal struggles of each character, and how differently they grew as individuals through their developing relationship. We all struggle with our own issues, and we don’t change at the same rate or in the same way. Each new installment in the Dogwood Cove series has given us more in terms of story (and steam) which makes me so happy, as I believe it’s indicative of an author who is continuing to stretch and grow in their art, and I’m just happy she’s letting us stick around for the journey.

Julia keeps outdoing herself with her characters and stories. I keep falling more in love with Dogwood Cove and its residents with each book. It's a read filled with emotions. Paige intrigued me from the previous books and I was glad to finally get to her book. She is adorable and her honesty, straightforwardness made me love her even more. Although, Paige might show her vulnerability it adds to her strength. I was in awe with her character. Wyatt is new to Dogwood Cove. He might be hiding from his past but never expected to find his future. The way Wyatt is with Paige melted my heart. I was swooning throughout the read. No matter how hard they try Paige and Wyatt cannot deny the attraction and their chemistry is off the charts. They both had to move past their baggage to find the happiness they deserve. It's easy to laugh and tear up with the characters as well as get frustrated and angry because I could relate to all of them. Having all of my favourite characters made the read fun.
