About this ebook

'A veritable treat' Daily Mail

The fourth book in Julia Quinn's globally bestselling, Regency-set, Bridgerton Family series, now the inspiration for the Netflix series Bridgerton created by Shondaland. Welcome to Colin and Penelope's long-awaited story . . .
________________________________________

Everyone knows that Colin Bridgerton is the most charming man in London . . .

Penelope Featherington has secretly adored her best friend's brother for . . . well, it feels like forever. After half a lifetime of watching Colin Bridgerton from afar, she thinks she knows everything about him, until she stumbles across his deepest secret . . . and fears she doesn't know him at all.

Colin Bridgerton is tired of being thought of as nothing but an empty-headed charmer, tired of the notorious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown, who can't seem to publish an edition without mentioning him. But when Colin returns to London from a trip abroad, he discovers nothing in his life is quite the same - especially Penelope Featherington! The girl who was always simply there is suddenly the girl haunting his dreams. When he discovers that Penelope has secrets of her own, this elusive bachelor must decide . . . is she his biggest threat - or his promise of a happy ending?

I expected more to be honest. The book had heaps of potential and great established characters but it lacked feeling. I was waiting to get that "heart tugging" when a heroine's inner turmoil (most often related to her insecurities and doubts about her intended) is being revealed, ala Jane Eyre when she's comparing her self portrait to the portrait she does of Blanche, however this never came. The story keeps building up to moments where the author could supply us with these, but every time the characters' inner worlds fall short and we move on to the "next thing", whatever that may be, never fully exploring what the previous moment meant to them. It's a shame as I know from reading the Duke and I, that the author is fully capable of conveying the importance of a moment and the different effects it has on her leading couple. Reading this and seeing barely anything similar is therefore very disappointing. I'll also add that after 3 books, the love making scenes have become sameish

Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, the fourth book in Julia Quinn's delightful Bridgerton series, proves that romance and humor can make for a delightful combination. The story centers around Penelope Featherington, a wallflower with a secret, and Colin Bridgerton, a charming bachelor who sees her in a new light. The characters are well-developed and endearing, and their witty banter adds a delightful layer to the story. The slow-burning romance between Penelope and Colin is heartwarming and relatable, showcasing Quinn's ability to craft relationships that resonate with readers.
