About this ebook

A woman’s life and love are compromised in this pulse-pounding thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Julie Garwood.

Dr. Ellie Sullivan has witnessed the shooting of an FBI agent in pursuit of a ruthless modern-day Bonnie and Clyde. The only person to see the shooter’s face, Ellie is suddenly thrust into the center of a criminal investigation spearheaded by the no-nonsense, by-the-book, and tantalizingly handsome agent Max Daniels.

When the couple is captured, she’ll be called to testify. But the Landrys have been caught before, and each time the witnesses are scared into silence—or they disappear. Now Max vows to be Ellie’s shadow, promising never to leave her side until the trial. But that could be dangerous for both of them, and it isn’t long before the sparks—and the bullets—fly.

In "The Ideal Man" by Julie Garwood, protagonist Ellie Sullivan seems like a normal doctor with a normal life. This all changes when she witnesses a murder right before her very eyes during a jog in the park. She is intensely questioned by the sexy FBI agent Max Daniels, whom Ellie is profoundly in love with. Ellie is in a bad position, with her snotty sister's wedding around the corner, FBI agents watching her every move, and worst of all, her childhood stalker being released from prison and searching for her. As she makes it to the wedding, she is surprised to find her love (Max) there, and it’s not long before sparks fly between them. What I liked about this book is the suspenseful beginning during the incident in the park. I thought it set the tone for the book going in and kept the pages turning. Agent Daniels was also one of my favorite characters because he is so sly and clever that it makes you wish you were like him. I really do not dislike anything about this book and I was surprised that I was able to keep reading this romantic novel even though I usually do not read these kinds of books. I conclude that the major theme and message of this book is that love cannot be thrown away like a piece of trash. Your feelings of love stay with you wherever you go and cannot be resisted. Love is the most powerful of all emotions. I would say that this book relates to me because like Ellie, I always have the feeling of being hunted down by my parents, friends, colleagues, and others. I could also relate to Ellie by the way that she had an undeniable love for Max; I have had that same feeling before in my life. Overall, I thought this book was pretty good for a romantic novel, and would gladly suggest it to be read by everyone who likes romance and suspense.
