Another fantastic, can't put it down read by Justin Cronin! 'The Twelve' is just as much of a great ride as 'The Passage', but in a very different way. This book - obviously now not having to build the new world from the first 32 minutes - instead follows just about every character we meet in Book 1 - some just in passing, others in more depth - and describes why they were like they were we they first passed. This leads to a book that is much less linear than the first but still filled with tales of true human horror and suffering. By the end, you will be wondering who were really the monsters the past some 100 years. But the changes are set for an amazing conclusion that I can't wait to start! Be there, aloha!

More vampires almost destroy the world! Themes of loss, betrayal, redemption and forgiveness continue from the first book almost a century later with an (almost) entirely new cast. Still a very messianic tone, bad guys still rather one-dimensional. Some attempt to flesh them out but it's a bit weak.

A fantastic continuation of The Passage and a book which has caused me tired days at work due to the late nights not being able to put the book down. Not quite sure what to do with all my free time that I have now! A thoroughly enjoyable read. 10 out of 10.
