Such a fantastic send-off for the series. I grew up with the Animorphs, but never got to finish the series while in school. Here I am, many years later, and I just finished rereading the entire series and finally finishing it off. And I have to say, this book was fantastic. No real fighting except for the very beginning, this book focused on wrapping up the story as a whole. Telling about life for everyone after the war, telling about the bravery of the Animorphs, and sending off the story of the one who sacrificed themselves. The final visit of you-know-who was a touching moment where the character finally got the ending they deserved. The book ends on a pretty big cliffhanger that settles as both an end to the Animorphs we know, but also as a potential opening for a future series set in the same universe. Let us hope Applegate will return in the future. Until then, goodbye, Animorphs. I will never forget you.
