About this ebook

From USA Today Bestselling Author K Webster comes a steamy, action-packed, and emotional modern day guardian angel paranormal romance!

She’s my final and toughest assignment…

For six years, I’ve worked hard to prove my worth at HEA Corp. I’m a sure bet to be promoted to a Seraph Guardian—the elite who protect the good souls of Earth from meeting untimely deaths.

My wings are almost within reach.

Just one more task.

But Lark Miller isn’t just another simple assignment.

She’s wicked and evil.

At least that’s what her file says.

I’m to protect her until our sister company, HEL Enterprises, sends their Reapers to collect what’s theirs.

According to my intel, she’s a lost soul with a dark, hidden past and no hope of redemption.

There’s a problem, though.

Nothing is what it seems with the elusive woman.

She’s enigmatic, complicated…and beautiful which is a big problem.

Her very presence is a distraction for me.

I can’t risk everything I’ve worked for by letting my heart get involved.

There are also holes in the story I’ve been fed about her.

With each passing day, I get to know the real Lark, and discover more untruths about her.

Someone messed up.

It’s up to me to get to the bottom of it before it’s too late.

Her destiny is fire and damnation.

Mine is to make sure she gets there.

Or is it?

Maybe our future can be rewritten.

Maybe I can save her…

This has issues related to grief, loss and mental health . I expected Alpha to be an alpha. But at beginning of the story, he came across a bit immature. The premises of the story wasn’t very believable to me. Lark is depressed and has zero wish to live after losing her love but Alpha kind of burged into her life and she let him..though slowly. I liked her grumpy brooding personality that still has so much love to give. Their chemistry felt a bit forced to me. Only towards the end, I started feeling Alpha to be the protective alpha I expected him to be. It was an interesting and clever take on the heaven, hell, angels and devil. The puzzle pieces were definitely put together very nicely. And I absolutely loved the ending. The way Lark and Alpha got their happily ever after and how their Souls were bound together for a long time but they didn't get to know that..it was beautiful. I wanted to see a bit more angst and a bit more build up. I reviewed a complimentary copy voluntarily
