The demon hunting duo of Johann Gunter and Robert Durling are enjoying the warm weather at Johann's home in Mesa, AZ. After going to sleep, Robert has a vision. He receives a call for help. He goes to Johann's room and not only tells Johann of his vision, but that they must leave for Minnesota...now.
After arriving in Minnesota, the duo find out that several people have gone missing lately. All the incidents were witnessed by children who claim their toys came to life and committed the heinous acts.
Their investigation leads them to the local toy store, where Johann talks to the owner while Robert examines all the toys. Johann notices a sign on the wall, and it sends chills up his spine. It leaves no doubt in his mind that a demon is to blame.
The demon hunters leave the store, only to return that night. They question Charles Swanson, and find that the only thing he is truly guilty of is wanting a better life for himself and his family.
With no options left, he took on a partner in the form of a demon The only problem was that the price the demon wanted was too high. Charles needed the deal badly, so he quickly came up with an alternative offer. That was when people started to vanish from the town.
Johann and Robert force Charles to take them to his "business partner", and soon discover that they don't have much time left. They have to act fast if they are going to save the missing people.
When they finally confront the demon, both Johann and Robert discover things about their past. One of them discovers something that will change his life forever.

J.R. Pestel was born in Pennsylvania, raised in New Jersey, and lived in Manhattan for a short time. Since 1999, she has resided with her husband, 2 dogs, and 2 cats in the beautiful southwestтАж In Arizona.
As a child, she loved the old black and white тАЬmonster moviesтАЭ of the 1950тАЩs and 1960sтАж As a matter of fact, she still does.
In her youth, she was rebellious. A definite child of the тАШ60s and тАШ70s. Her dream at that time was to become a rock тАШnтАЩ roll star. She even played guitar in a few bands тАУ mainly hard rock. To this very day, she still owns the 1973 gold top Les Paul guitar that she played back then.
She met the love of her life in 1978, and they married in 1985. Still happily married to this day, they embarked on many wonderful adventures together over the years. Not the least of which was being motorsports photographers. She started photographing motorsports with her husband in 1991 and they are both still active photographers тАУ although now it is only races at Phoenix International Raceway. It was her husband who, in 2016, encouraged her to start writing.
She has had many occupations in her lifetimeтАФmusician, video store owner, hobby shop owner, race photographer, and even candle maker. But the one occupation she loves the most is being an author.
So, although she may not be Stephen King or Anne Rice, if youтАЩre looking for a novel that will not only chill you, but entertain as well, give the books of J.R. Pestel a try.
