About this ebook

Fans of 1990's shows like Dawson's Creek and Mad About You will love this throwback romantic comedy.

After a devastating accident at sea, the only job Sullivan Calloway can get is one that few have survived.

If time and tide wait for no man, neither does Helen O'Neill. She's spent years forging her own path in the movie business. The young hunk she's hired to replace her latest assistant to leave in tears may be a sight for sore eyes, but expectations will not be lowered. If he can’t do the work, he’ll be out on his very fine behind.

If only her heart would get the memo.

Don't miss this slow-burn, boss-assistant, entertainment biz romance from USA Today bestselling author Karen Grey.

Karen really sets the tone in her books, I absolutely love the Carolina Classics series so far. Reading this is like immersing yourself in your favorite dramedy with All your favorite characters and the couple you are currently shipping front and center in the latest installment. Sully and Helen are complete opposites in most every way. One of the things I love about them is they don’t want to change each other to fit themselves they find a balance and make it work. It was a delight to see them go from a great working relationship to a physical relationship then to an actual relationship. This was a fun read with all the chemistry, banter, swoons and charm that make a great romance 5/5⭐️

'Hold on to me' is the second book in Karen Grey's Carolina Classics series. This throwback romantic comedy gives us Sully's story as he meets and develops a relationship with his new boss Helen. This is an absorbing read in which you (especially if you have read the prequel and book one in the series) will quickly feel like you are amongst old friends. I loved catching up with Sully, Violet (and Nate), Ford and Dani, and am so looking forward to the next addition to the series.

Karen Grey is a favorite author of mine because she has the ability to transport the reader to that exact moment in time she writes about and pull memories, feelings, even sensory fueled emotions. I remember so much from the 90s including all the cultural nostalgia woven throughout the book. You should keep in mind before reading that Karen has trigger warnings on her website if TW are an issue for me. If you read the previous book you already know about Sully and his accident so you'll get where his head is at in this book and how he meets Helen. Tropes galore in this book with tragic past, work romance, boss/employee love affair, reverse age gap, among others. You also get more of the gang and how and what everyone is up to as well. Can't wait for the rest of this band of friends to get their HEA!!
